'The Natural Way'

Carcant Farm hosts two open sheepdog training clinics each year.
One at the end of June and one at the end of Oct.

Joining with us is Sarah Jenkins, a International handler and trainer.

The June and Oct clinic dates are set as follows:


15th Oct 08- 17th Oct 08
Places are going already for the Oct clinic so make sure you book soon to ensure you get your place held. Clinic is £50 per day per slot, we often work in the morning and afternoon so you can have two dogs working once each day or if you book two slots you can work your dog morning and afternoon everyday of the clinic. Payments are for per day which includes a snack lunch and so if your needing away early on the last day we do what we can to fit you in to let you away. Im afraid we carn't offer a refund for leaving early without taking your slot.
Accomadation is extra so book early if needed.
All handlers are responsible for their own dogs, and we would be grateful if you walk your dogs where allocated or permission is given, picking up after them if needed.  We are very grateful to the Somerville family for allowing such events to happen here on Carcant and so I would much appreiciate all the help I can get for keeping the place tidy and respecting their property.
For those taking accomadation, please could you leave everything tidy as it has always been done up to date.  Thankyou for your help.

Our training techniques are very simular working with "The Natural Way" of training, to bring out your dogs natural instincts, to utilize them when working on or off sheep.  Communicating  through pressure/release method.  Learn the skill to read your dog and understand his language so that you can work together as a team.
Not only learn about your dog, here is a chance to learn from a shepherding point of view, which will give you an insight in to sheep behaviour that is the most important aspect when working and learning with your dog.  Bobby, Sarah and myself have spent years working professionally with livestock and so come and share the experience that Carcant can bring you.
